I figured I could take a step back from my reading and update this blog to let everyone know of my activities over the last couple days. So, here it goes!
Two days ago I left Newark, OH for South bend and the University of Notre Dame. I made it in good time despite being pulled over by a cop who thought I wasn't wearing my seat belt because of my new car's belt placement. Thanks Honda. I rolled into ND a little before noon and started to unpack with the other ACErs. That night we had mass and a cookout before being let loose for the night.
Saturday started early when we left for a retreat center. We spent the better part of the day discussing our expectations and fears of becoming teachers. The retreat center was beautiful but the entire time all I could think was that I needed to find a fishing pole to take down to their pond.
After the retreat we headed back to South Bend to have dinner which was amazing because I felt as though I was going to die of starvation. Don't worry though, they are feeding us here.
We got our class schedules this morning and then sampled the dining hall food for the first time. It was actually pretty good! We also were assigned our first homework assignments. It is quite the long read at about 40 pages front and back. Nobody said this would be easy though!
First day of classes tomorrow!
Here we go!
