So I just finished lunch and I sit here with a mound of homework in front of me. I can't seem to force myself to quite do it yet because the food coma from all this delectable dining room food is finally getting to me. This first week of classes we are being thrown to the lions with our schedule. It goes as follows:
8:30-10 Integrative Seminar
1015-1145 Intro to Teaching
130-4 Intro to Middle School
8-10pm Intro to Computer in Edu.
10-1030 Daily Mass
I have some breaks in there as you can see but those are adequately being filled with homework, eating, bathing, questioning my existence, and the occasional resting of my eyes. Yesterday was the first full day of the classes and I am already questioning whether or not someone is playing a joke on me and there was actually two or three days crammed into "Yesterday."
But alas, in this sea of complaints I want to assure everyone that I am having an incredible time with some awesome people. The classes are engaging and don't feel so long. The teachers are passionate and give me something to aspire to be. The homework is by no means busy work and truly helps me learn the material. I am starting to learn all the little Notre Dame traditions so I can make this place feel like home.
I miss everyone dearly at home but be assured I have made the right decision to come here.
Also, we were asked to come up with our message that we wanted to convey to the students today. I am still thinking of what to use but I am open to suggestions.
Today, a day I feel exceptionally impatient for the future, I leave you with this for the day, a quote from St. Anthony of Padua:
"You must wait. Do not be anxious. Do not worry. Do not look around at the things others have gained for themselves or that I have given them. Do not look at the things you want. Just keep looking at Me or you will miss what I want to show you. And then, when you are ready, I will surprise you with a love far more wonderful than any you would ever dream of."

Retreat Complete!
I figured I could take a step back from my reading and update this blog to let everyone know of my activities over the last couple days. So, here it goes!
Two days ago I left Newark, OH for South bend and the University of Notre Dame. I made it in good time despite being pulled over by a cop who thought I wasn't wearing my seat belt because of my new car's belt placement. Thanks Honda. I rolled into ND a little before noon and started to unpack with the other ACErs. That night we had mass and a cookout before being let loose for the night.
Saturday started early when we left for a retreat center. We spent the better part of the day discussing our expectations and fears of becoming teachers. The retreat center was beautiful but the entire time all I could think was that I needed to find a fishing pole to take down to their pond.
After the retreat we headed back to South Bend to have dinner which was amazing because I felt as though I was going to die of starvation. Don't worry though, they are feeding us here.
We got our class schedules this morning and then sampled the dining hall food for the first time. It was actually pretty good! We also were assigned our first homework assignments. It is quite the long read at about 40 pages front and back. Nobody said this would be easy though!
First day of classes tomorrow!
Here we go!
